The Tour de France 2023 is set to start July 1 as riders will take off in Bilbao, Spain, and finish 21 stages later at the Champ-Elyees.

Jonas Vingegaard returns with Jumbo-Visma and is aiming for his second Tour de France win. Last year, Vingegaard went head-to-head with Tadej Pogačar in the race's final stages, ultimately coming out as champion.

Mark Cavendish (Astana Qazaqstan Team) is also returning and is ready to start collecting his green jerseys.

What does it mean if a rider is wearing a green jersey in the Tour de France?

Green jerseys are awarded to the fastest cyclist on a particular stage - Cavendish is well known for sprinting skills and it's likely to see him riding in this jersey color.

Many more notable names will return to the course this year, including Tom Pidock and Peter Sagan. Here is the full Tour de France Start List 2023.
