Van Aert vs. Van der Poel: A Season Rivalry

Wout van Aert and Mathieu van der Poel went head-to-head last season. It came to a roiling boil in the Worlds where van der Poel bettered van Aert in a two-up sprint.

In the World Cups, however, Laurens Sweeck brought home the overall victory thanks to his consistency .

What's on tap this season? The series includes 14 rounds, from Waterloo to Hoogerheide, with stops like Dublin and Val di Sole in between.

The Cyclocross Favorites

On the men's side, attention will be on road stars van der Poel, van Aert, and Tom Pidcock when they parachute in for selected rounds.

The mainstays are Laurens Sweeck, Lars van der Haar, Michael Vanthourenhout, and Eli Iserbyt.

And look for young star Tibau Nys, son of the Belgian cyclocross great Sven Nys.

Fem van Empel: Dominance in Women's World Cup

With seven wins, Fem van Empel dominated the 2022-2023 World Cup. Look for her on the women's side, with a list of other Dutch riders including Puck Pieterse, Denise Betsema, Lucinda Brand, and Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado.
