The Virtual Tour de France is a six-stage race held on the Zwift platform. The worlds top male and female cyclists will compete against each other throughout the first three weekends of July.

Weekend 1

The race begins in familiar territory for those who frequent Zwift Island. Stages 1 and 2, which begin on the July 4th weekend will take racers around Zwift's volcanic Wattopia island. Stage 1 features the Hilly Loop run in reverse direction, while stage 2 will have riders tackle Zwift's Epic KOM.

Weekend 2

Stages 3 and 4 will be held the weekend of July 11th. The middle stages of the race take place in a new world that Zwift has designed for the Virtual Tour de France. And yes, that new world looks a lot like France. 

Stage 3 should be a fast 24 kilometers for the pros with two sectors of pave and the new Aquaduc KOM.

Weekend 3

Weekend 3 kicks off with the queen stage of the Tour on July 18th. Riders will tackle the Petit KOM before riding a virtual rendition of the iconic Mont Ventoux. The stage finishes at Chalet Reynard where we saw Nairo Quintana claim an emphatic victory  at Tour de la Provence early in 2020.

The race concludes on July 19th in traditional fashion. Zwift has built a meter-for-meter replica of Paris' historic Champs-Élysées circuit. Racers will charge past the Arc de Triomphe and sprint to the finish as if it were the 21st stage of the Tour.

Women First

The Virtual Tour de France will feature 23 men's teams and 17 women's teams. The women's race will be held first each day.
