Belgium's Christmas series or Kerstperiode got underway last weekend with Waaslandcross and the Namur World Cup. Suffice it to say, the opening weekend did not disappoint. 

Belgium's Christmas series is the peak of the international cyclocross season. Many of the sport's most iconic courses are featured throughout these action-packed two weeks, and the top racers will be on top form.

With many riders opting out of this weekend's racing at Ethias Cross in Essen to focus on the Zonhoven Superprestige on Sunday or to focus on a training block before the next round of World Cups, the fields were quieter than normal without racers like Annemarie Worst or Mathieu Van der Poel.

Marianne Vos, the seven time world cyclocross champion recently announced her 2019 - 2020 cyclocross program. Vos will debut at the Ethias Cross Essen on December 7th which will be streamed live and on demand on FloBikes. 

Jonathan Page is a four time national cyclocross champion and silver medalist at the cyclocross world championships. For the majority of his cyclocross career, Page lived and raced in Belgium. He retired from elite level racing at U.S. nationals in January of 2018.
