Matteo Jorgenson won the 2024 Dwars door Vlaanderen on Wednesday after his teammate Wout van Aert and Eritrea's Biniam Girmay were taken away in ambulances after a high-speed crash.

Biniam Girmay of Eritrea won the prestigious Gent Wevelgem classic on Sunday, becoming the first sub-Saharan cyclist to win a one-day classic.
